The Esthetician is responsible for providing exceptional skincare services while delivering an outstanding client experience that supports Massage Envy's commitment to Total Body Care. This position focuses on building long-term client relationships through customized treatment plans, education, retail recommendations, and consistent rebooking. Estheticians are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, cleanliness, teamwork, and guest care.
Essential Responsibilities:
Client Care:
- Perform professional skin care services, including customized facials, chemical peels, microderm infusion, LED light therapy, and approved service enhancements.
- Conduct thorough consultations and skin analyses to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Educate clients on proper home care and recommend products that support treatment results.
- Create a welcoming, relaxing, and professional environment during every service.
- Document services accurately and maintain complete client records.
Client Retention & Sales:
Clinic Operations:
- Maintain clean, sanitized, and fully stocked treatment rooms at all times.
- Follow all California State Board regulations, sanitation guidelines, and Massage Envy operational standards.
- Properly use, clean, and maintain all equipment and treatment supplies.
- Assist with inventory management and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Complete daily opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.
Teamwork & Professionalism:
- Communicate effectively with management and front desk associates to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with clinic needs when appropriate.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented culture.
- Represent Massage Envy professionally in appearance, conduct, and communication.
Qualifications:
- Current California Esthetician License in good standing.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Passion for skincare and helping clients achieve their skincare goals.
- Ability to educate clients and confidently recommend products and treatment plans.
- Previous spa, medical spa, or skincare experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with PCA SKIN® and/or Marini Skin Solutions products is a plus.

Estheticians are expected to:
- Deliver exceptional customer service during every client interaction.
- Meet or exceed clinic goals for retail sales, enhancements, and client rebooking.
- Maintain high client satisfaction and positive guest feedback.
- Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and service protocols.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
- Work collaboratively with all team members to support clinic success.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements during treatments.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Perform cleaning, stocking, and room preparation duties throughout the shift.
